Job Description

About the Role

We are looking to hire an experienced Residential Estimator to join our growing residential department. In this role, you'll be the vital link between our customers and our production crew—walking homes and properties, scoping the work, and building accurate, competitive estimates that win jobs and set our team up for success. You'll manage bids from the first customer conversation through to a signed proposal, ensuring every estimate reflects the quality and professionalism we are known for.

This is a mid-level position for someone with a few years of estimating or painting-trade experience who is ready to own their pipeline, work directly with homeowners, and grow with a company that values craftsmanship and reliability.

What You'll Do

• Conduct on-site walkthroughs for residential repaint and prep projects both interior and exterior, taking detailed on-site measurements and notes.

• Prepare accurate, itemized estimates covering labor, materials, prep, and timelines using company pricing standards and estimating tools.

• Present and review professional proposals to homeowners, clearly explaining scope, options, and value.

• Respond to customer questions, adjust bids as needed, and follow up to close sales.

• Communicate accurate job details, scope, and specifications to production crews and project managers for a smooth handoff.

• Build and maintain relationships with customers to build repeat and referral business.

• Track and update estimate records, pricing, and pipeline activity in company systems.

• Stay current on paint products, application methods, and market pricing while upholding company margin, quality, and safety standards on every bid.

What You Bring

• 3–5 years of estimating experience in residential painting, a related trade, or construction (painting experience strongly preferred).

• Solid understanding of surface prep, coatings, and interior/exterior painting methods.

• Ability to read a job site, measure accurately, and translate scope into a reliable estimate.

• Strong customer-facing communication skills and a professional, trustworthy presence in people's homes.

• Comfort with estimating software, email, and basic spreadsheets; well-organized with good follow-through.

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for daily travel to job sites in our service area.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids at once.

Nice to Have

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.

• Experience with estimating or CRM platforms (e.g., PaintScout, Bluebeam, or similar).

• Prior hands-on painting or sales experience.

What We Offer

• Competitive base pay plus performance-based incentives.

• Steady, year-round work with an established and growing company.

• Supportive team, quality tools, and the training to succeed.

• Opportunity to grow within our company.
